‘The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field’

Matthew 9:37-38

Where are the next generation of gospel workers are coming from?

Who are we?

9:38 is a national evangelical interdenominational body which has been established to help people consider whether paid gospel ministry might be for them.

What’s our vision?

That many gifted and godly men and women would be identified, recruited, trained and sent out to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to those living in this country and overseas.

How do we do it?

We try to achieve this in two main ways:

Apprenticeship Schemes

Apprenticeship Schemes are 1-2 year placements with evangelical churches, normally incorporating practical service, Word ministry and some formal training. They provide the opportunity to ‘test the water’ of going into paid ministry in the long-term and as a precursor to more formal theological training.

9:38 aim to advise churches on the setting up of Apprenticeship Schemes and promotes the Apprenticeship model.

Conferences

All our conferences include Bible teaching, seminars on specific ministries and a chance to chat one to one with local church leaders and other gospel ministers.

Annual Conference

To help people who are in the workplace or retired to consider paid full time or part time gospel ministry now or in the future.

Student Conference

To help students think through principles of paid gospel ministry and whether it might be right for them.

Apprentices Conference

A conference especially for apprentices to encourage and equip them for gospel ministry.
