ST GILES’ CHURCH, DERBY

Website? www.stgiles-derby.org.uk

Proclaiming Christ to all and presenting all mature in Christ (Colossians 1: 28)

We are a community of ordinary people from all walks of life who are committed to these two goals and to training and equipping workers for them.

Who are we?

We’re an Anglican Evangelical Church who preach the Gospel and pray at every opportunity. We’re based in the southern suburbs of socially mixed Derby City, not far from the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and Peaks. Find us at www.stgiles-derby.org.uk

What do we offer?

Our apprentices get a taste of a huge variety of ministry tasks: youth and children, students, outreach projects, enquirers’ courses such as Christianity Explored, small groups, prayer, church services, schools work, music and much more. You will get the chance to explore just about any area of ministry you could name. Not that you have to do all of those!

You’ll be well taught and grounded in the Bible here and at the Midlands Ministry Training Course in Birmingham each Thursday, as well as studying modules of the Moore College Correspondence Course. You’ll be challenged, encouraged and mentored and you will serve Christ in a staff team that has a vision and a sense of humour and fun.

Who should apply?

Each year we seek two people with a servant heart to come for one or two years, to live among us (accommodation is provided), learn from and work with us. There are no particular academic qualifications required but you must share our conviction that the Bible is the true and living Word of God, and have a commitment to Bible-centred ministry. There is a generous living allowance provided but the real rewards are in heaven.
